dc.description.abstractEn este trabajo se analizan los espectros de atenuación y velocidad de ondas ultrasónicas en una columna de agua. La finalidad es evaluar el potencial del ultrasonido para monitorizar la cantidad y el tamaño de las burbujas en flujos bifásicos agua-aire. Esta aplicación es de interés para varias industrias, siendo algunas la petrolera y la de alimentos. Se implementó la técnica pulso-eco con un transductor de banda ancha con frecuencia central de 0,5 MHz. También se desarrolló una metodologı́a para cuantificar la cantidad de burbujas basada en procesamiento digital de imágenes. Fueron analizados el efecto del promediado de las señales y la variación de los espectros de atenuación y velocidad on la cantidad de burbujas.spa
dc.description.abstractIn this work, the attenuation and velocity spectra of ultrasonic waves in a water column are analyzed. The purpose is to evaluate the potential of ultrasound to monitor the amount and size of bubbles in twophase water-air ows. This application is interesting for several industries, such as the petroleum and food ones. The pulse-echo technique was implemented using a broadband transducer with a central frequency of 0;5 MHz. A methodology based on digital image processing was also developed to quantify the amount of bubbles. The e ect of the averaging of the signals and the variation of the attenuation and velocity spectra due to the amount of bubbles were analyzedeng
