The ISO 50001 Standard, specifies the requirements that the energy management system (EMS) must meet, since its appearance in 2011 to date, many companies in the world have implemented this management system to constantly improve their energy performance. However, in its implementation and especially in the establishment of the energy planning process, there is a difficulty in many organizations to properly define their energy performance indicators (EnPI) and their respective energy baselines (EnB), key aspects for effectively manage the energy performance of its facilities, systems, processes and equipment, due to the non-existence of a concrete and documented methodology to do so, each organization established the models it considered relevant. Seeking to address this need and standardize the process, the ISO organization launched the ISO 50006 standard in 2014, a tool with practical guidance for organizations, on how to establish, use and maintain EnPI and EnB to measure energy performance and your changes according to your measurement capabilities. In this work, the different EnPI models and their respective EnB proposed by this new standard will be evaluated, in order to establish in accordance with the organizational characteristics and measurement capabilities that the model will implement, defining their scope and limits; In addition, the validation of each model will be carried out to define the relevance of its use in decision making and a real case study applied to companies in the industrial sector will be presented
