In this work, the didactic strategy of case study is implemented as an active learning tool that integrates the subjects of statistical quality control and quality management in the Industrial Engineering program of the Autonomous University of the West, for the development of specific learning in students. In the first instance, the literary review will be carried out on how a case study is prepared, in order to establish a specific guideline of the steps that must be carried out in order to write and implement a case study. Taking into account the established guide, the case study was designed for both the quality statistical control and the quality management subject, but the latter could not be implemented because the programmatic content of the subject management of the subject changes The quality For example, the case study of the subject statistical quality control is implemented in two groups (morning and night) as an option of the transverse work of the subject. For this reason, the students chosen the freedom to choose whether to develop the case study or the performance of work in business. Subsequently, a qualitative and quantitative analysis will be carried out, using two NVIVO and Minitab softwares respectively, comparing the opinions of the students, the transverse work notes and the final notes excluding the independent components of the case when developing a case study or performing the work. in company Within the analysis mentioned above, it was found that among the students' most developed skills in carrying out the case study are the ability to analyze and make decisions; Likewise, the most important advantages when carrying out the case study are the saving of time and facilitating the realization of the transversal work. Finally, with the comparison of the final notes of the cross-sectional work, the most effective case study was obtained in the students of the group in the morning than in the evening, since the averages of the first were higher than that of the second
