The electric power systems, are responsible for transporting and distributing of energy in the form of electricity, energy systems are subject to disturbances such as frequency variations, voltage fluctuations and the possibility that it is not continuity of service electric. These situations can influence the quality of the energy, with which a negative impact is obtained and the devices that connect to the network generate insecurity and reliability in the power system that affects not only the industries but also the miles of people since electricity is a resource that can move the economy of a city or a country.
Energy storage systems (BESS), which offer many advantages when incorporated into the network, not only in energy applications that increase network security but also in energy management applications that allow an efficient and immediate response to fluctuations in demand and increased use of renewable energy sources.
Battery storage systems, as an auxiliary network element, exhibit characteristics of performance, efficiency and versatility, especially lithium-ion batteries. The model of lithium-ion batteries chosen is intended to represent the influence of BESS on power systems.
